Community Profile

Mwanza is the second largest city in Tanzania, and it sits on the Northwest shore of Lake Victoria. Around the lake, many small fishing communities are currently experiencing up to 20% infection rates of HIV. This, in combination with extreme poverty, has created a difficult environment.

Pasiansi is a community within Mwanza that is known for extreme poverty and high rates of HIV infection.
