in east Africa, HIV has historically been a death-sentence

Imagine you have lost your job. Your spouse has left you. Your family and friends have disowned you... all because you have contracted a disease for which there is no known cure. In East Africa, stigma cuts people off from society and prevents them from receiving life-saving care. There are currently 19.4 million people living with HIV in Sub Saharan Africa. This is the most vulnerable population in the modern world.

 life beyond AIDS

HIV doesn’t have to be a death sentence. CARE for AIDS exists to empower people to live a life beyond AIDS. We do this through facilitating transformation physically, emotionally, socially, economically, and spiritually for our clients over the course of a nine-month program.  Meet some of our graduates below:

If I was asked to write down all that I’ve learned from CARE for AIDS, 200 pages would not even be enough.

We are many, and I am encouraged knowing that I am not alone and that we have CARE for AIDS behind us.
— Beatrice, 2018 CARE for AIDS Graduate
When I first came to CARE for AIDS, nothing in my life made sense. But over the last nine months, I’ve realized that HIV does not define me.
— Christine, 2018 CARE for AIDS Graduate
When we started this program, everyone was reserved, but now we would all say the same thing: we thank God for this program and all we’ve learned!
— Jacinta, 2018 CARE for AIDS Graduate
