Community profile
The CARE for AIDS center in the Kinondoni community launched in June of 2018. Kinondoni is a slum community located near the business center of Dar es Salaam. There is a high rate of poverty, prostitution, and drug use in the area, which contributes to the community's high HIV prevalence. The CARE for AIDS center in Kinondoni operates in partnership with Kinondoni Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Samuel Kabonaki and center counselors Gabriel and Bertha.

Graduate Profiles
Ester, 2021 Graduate
Ester lived with sickness for 8 years. She was using ARVs for problems with her digestive system. She went to the hospital and they told her that she should be operated on. The cost of that operation was very high.
Because of her life’s hardship, she decided to leave it as it was, despite the fact that she was struggling with severe pain. But through CARE for AIDS services, she has already undergone the operation and continues to do well.
