Janet, 2021 Client

Janet is a former “street girl” who is married to a former “street boy.” She was rescued from the Sinai slum by a good samaritan. They were blessed with a child but unfortunately, the support was withdrawn.

God opened a door and she was introduced to CARE for AIDS. Janet’s child was underweight at the time and when we noticed this, we introduced the child to the CFA milk program. Since this intervention, the child’s weight has greatly increased. Janet has also become jovial and embraced our program without missing weekly activities.

Katharine, 2018 sinai Graduate:

When Katharine was 20 years old, she started getting boils all over her body. The boils caused so much pain she was unable to maintain a steady job. When she went to hospital to have her condition diagnosed, she was told she was HIV-positive.

When Katharine started the CARE for AIDS program in Sinai, she was able to overcome the stigma of her diagnosis and realize her self-worth. She realized for the first time Jesus loved her unconditionally, and she made a faith decision in the program.

Thanks to what Katharine learned in the program, she is now able to sustain herself. Although she has never been to school,  she has enjoyed learning life skills and business skills in the economic empowerment sessions.

Katherine prays that as she begins her business selling tissues and soaps, that it will be successful.
